BEE HOTELS

This page contains instructions to create your own bee hotel! These boxes are easy to make at home and all the steps and materials needed are included on this page. Cedar fence posts work best for these hotels because they are much less expensive and will last longer than pine boards.

These instructions are adapted and modified from the One-Board DIY birdhouse created by the website Birds and Blooms.

STEP 2

Attach the two side pieces to the floor with wood glue and then nail each side into the floor to keep it secure. Glue the connected sides and floor to the back panel of the hotel and secure with nails as well. Attach the top to the side panels with glue and also secure with nails. Diagram is pictured above.

STEP 3

Stack the reeds inside the hotel, making sure they are snug enough so that they won't fall out.
